Pakistani passport holders including children are “visa nationals”, which means your child must apply for a Standard Visitor Visa before travelling. The UK’s Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is only for visa exempt countries, so it does not apply to Pakistan. As a parent or legal guardian, you’ll complete the online application on your child’s behalf and book their biometrics at a visa application centre (VFS) in Pakistan.

How your child travels affects what you need to show. There are two situations:
If the child travels with a parent or another trusted adult, that adult must be named in the child’s application (up to two adults can be named, and their names appear on the child’s visa). The child and the adult each submit their own separate application. Consent from the parents or guardian is still required.
A child can travel to the UK without an adult, but the safeguarding requirements are stricter. You’ll need a clear written consent letter, a responsible adult in the UK who will care for the child, and full details of the care and accommodation. Airlines also have their own unaccompanied minor policies, so check those too.
