What happens after you graduate
Malaysia does not have a general post study work visa. To stay, you need a job with an employer who applies for your Employment Pass. Many graduates use their degree to move on to a master’s in the UK, Australia or Europe, or return home with a recognised foreign degree.

In Malaysia your university applies for your Student Pass through Education Malaysia Global Services. You send the documents; they file it.

Ask your questionIs a Malaysian degree recognised in Pakistan?
Degrees from accredited Malaysian universities and from UK or Australian branch campuses are recognised by HEC. Branch campus graduates receive the same degree certificate as the home campus. We only shortlist accredited universities.
What is the Student Pass?
It is the permission to study in Malaysia. Your university applies for it through Education Malaysia Global Services. You receive a visa approval letter, travel on it, and the Student Pass is endorsed in your passport after your arrival medical.
Do I need IELTS for Malaysia?
Most universities ask for IELTS or an equivalent, usually 5.0 to 6.0 for bachelor’s and 6.0 to 6.5 for master’s. Some accept their own English test or place you in an English course first.
How much does it cost to study in Malaysia?
Private university tuition is typically RM 20,000 to 50,000 a year for a bachelor’s, and living costs are about RM 1,500 to 2,500 a month. We confirm current figures at your assessment.
Can I work while studying in Malaysia?
Only in limited cases. Students may work part time during semester breaks and holidays, in permitted sectors, and not during term. Plan your budget without work income.
Can I transfer to the UK or Australia?
Yes, many Malaysian universities run transfer programmes where you study the first years in Malaysia and finish abroad. It lowers the total cost. We check each route before you commit.
Can I stay in Malaysia after graduating?
There is no general post study work visa. To stay, you need a job offer and an Employment Pass from your employer. Many graduates move on to a master’s abroad instead.
Which intake should I choose?
September is the biggest intake, with January and May at many private universities. Apply at least three months before your intake so the Student Pass is ready in time.
