How much money must I show?
NZD 20,000 for each year of study for living costs, plus your tuition. Funds must come from a source and history you can explain.

Do PhD students really pay domestic fees?
Yes. International PhD students at New Zealand universities pay the same tuition as New Zealanders, and most universities offer doctoral scholarships on top.
How long does the student visa take?
Eight in ten fee paying student visas are decided within eight weeks, according to the government’s published figures at the time of writing. Apply as soon as you have your offer and funds.
Which English test should I take?
IELTS Academic, PTE Academic or TOEFL iBT. Most bachelor’s programmes want 6.0 and postgraduate programmes 6.5.
What is the visa fee?
NZD 850 for a fee paying student visa at the time of writing, plus the cost of your medical and any police certificate.
