Study in the UK from Pakistan, planned properly
One year master’s degrees, three year bachelor’s, and a Graduate Route to work afterwards. This is what a Pakistani applicant needs for the 2027/28 intakes: courses, admission, funds, the Student visa and the universities we work with.
Westside Visa Consultants is an independent private advisory. We are not affiliated with any government, embassy or visa application centre and cannot influence a visa decision. Figures are the published ones at the time of writing, each with its date; we confirm current numbers at your assessment.
Shorter degrees, a world class name, and a life worth living while you study
A bachelor’s in three years and most master’s in one means a smaller total bill than the USA or Australia, and a British degree is understood by every employer in Pakistan and the Gulf.

A master’s in twelve months, not two years
One year of fees, one year of rent, and you are back in the job market a year ahead of classmates who chose elsewhere.

Weekends by the Thames, not in a library

Up to 20 hours a week in term, full time in holidays
Six routes into a British qualification
Tell us your last qualification and your grades, and we will tell you which of these fits, and at which universities.
Foundation year
For FSc or A Level students who need a bridge into a bachelor’s. Pass it and progression into year one is usually built in.
Bachelor’s degree
Three years in England and Wales, four in Scotland. Many courses add a paid placement year in industry.
Master’s degree
The favourite for Pakistani graduates: MSc, MA, MEng or LLM in twelve months, with September and January starts.
PhD
Find the supervisor first, then apply. Funded studentships exist, and a PhD brings three years of Graduate visa afterwards.
MBA and professional
Most UK MBAs want three years of work experience. Higher fees, and a higher salary bracket afterwards.
Pre sessional English
A short English course run by the university before your degree, for applicants half a band short on IELTS.

The Graduate visa: your first job in the UK, no sponsor needed
Finish your degree and you can stay to work at any level, for any employer, without a job offer. The length depends on the date you apply for it.
From offer letter to boarding pass in six steps
You submit the application on the official UK government site and attend biometrics yourself. We prepare the file with you and check every page before it goes.
Offer
Apply to up to five courses, accept one unconditional offer and pay the deposit.
CAS
The university issues your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies, the number the visa is built on.
Funds, 28 days
First year fees still owed plus up to nine months of living costs, held for 28 consecutive days.
Apply online
Pay the visa fee and health surcharge, and get your TB certificate from an approved clinic.
Biometrics
At the UK visa application centre in Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi or Mirpur.
Decision
Usually about three weeks; a credibility interview is possible. Then flights and a room.
The budget, line by line
Living cost figures apply to Student visa applications made from 30 November 2026 (£1,203 a month outside London, £1,570 in London). Scholarships such as Chevening, Commonwealth and university awards can cut tuition; we tell you which you realistically qualify for.

The UK rules that changed, explained for Pakistani applicants

What the new monthly figures mean for a January 2027 applicant’s bank statement.

Who keeps two years, who gets 18 months, and why the application date is what counts.

How the money must sit in the account, whose account counts, and the letters you need.
UK study questions we hear every week
Anything else, ask on WhatsApp. A real adviser replies, not a bot.
Ask your questionCan Pakistani students get a UK Student visa?
Yes. Pakistan is one of the largest sources of students in the UK. What decides the case is a genuine course choice, funds held correctly for 28 days, and answers at the credibility interview that match your file.
How much money must I show, and for how long?
First year tuition you still owe plus living costs: £1,203 a month outside London or £1,570 in London, for up to nine months, for applications made from 30 November 2026. The money must sit in the account for 28 consecutive days.
Can I study in the UK without IELTS?
Some universities accept a medium of instruction letter, PTE, TOEFL or their own online test, especially for master’s applicants. Many do not. We check each university’s current rule before you apply.
Do I apply through UCAS?
For a bachelor’s degree, yes, through UCAS. For a master’s or PhD you apply directly to each university, which is faster and free at most of them.
Can I work while studying?
Up to 20 hours a week during term at degree level, and full time in official vacations. Work cannot be the main reason for your stay, and self employment is not allowed.
Can my spouse and children come with me?
Only if you are a postgraduate research student (PhD or research master’s) or a government sponsored student. Taught master’s and bachelor’s students cannot bring dependants.
How long can I stay after I graduate?
The Graduate visa gives 18 months of open work rights for applications made from 1 January 2027, and three years after a PhD. A sponsored Skilled Worker job can follow.
How long does the Student visa take?
Usually about three weeks from biometrics when you apply from Pakistan. Priority services are sometimes offered for an extra fee.
When should I start for a September 2027 or January 2028 intake?
Nine to twelve months ahead is ideal: shortlist and apply in the autumn or winter before, accept an offer, arrange funds, and apply for the visa up to six months before the course starts.
Is a study gap a problem?
Not if you can explain it with work experience, family reasons or further study. Unexplained gaps of several years are what raise questions at the interview.
Can I get a scholarship?
Chevening and Commonwealth are the national schemes; most universities also offer international awards of £2,000 to £10,000 off tuition. We tell you which ones you realistically qualify for.
What if my visa is refused?
Read the refusal letter carefully; most refusals are about funds or credibility. A fresh application with the gap fixed is often the fastest route. Bring the letter to your assessment.
Do you submit the visa application for me?
No. You submit on the official UK government site and attend biometrics yourself. We prepare the file with you, check the form before it goes and prepare you for the credibility interview.
